Privacy & cookie policy

Westgate Travel is seriously committed to the privacy and security of your personal information.

Draft for review. This policy is a UK GDPR skeleton built from the privacy notice on our previous website. Our ICO registration reference is ZA399519. Last updated: November 2026.

1. Who we are

Westgate Travel (partners J D & A W Paulett), 91 Talbot Road, Talbot Green, Pontyclun, Mid Glamorgan CF72 8AE, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and when you book with us. Contact: enquiries@westgatetravel.co.uk · 01443 237100.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Registration reference: ZA399519.

2. What information we collect

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, telephone number and any details you include about your travel plans.
  • Bookings: your name, email address, correspondence address and contact telephone number, and passenger details needed by suppliers. Depending on how you pay, we may also need card details (card number, expiry date and registered address) to process payment.
  • Special category data: where you tell us about health, mobility or dietary needs so that suppliers can assist you, we use this only with your explicit consent and only for that purpose.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, your first name and email address.

3. How we use it and our lawful bases

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare quotes — legitimate interests / steps prior to a contract.
  • To process your booking, send confirmations and tickets, and contact you about your booking — performance of a contract.
  • To meet legal, accounting and financial protection obligations — legal obligation.
  • To send offers and news by email where you have agreed — consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by calling us.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information. We share it only where needed to arrange your travel, for example with tour operators, airlines, cruise lines, hotels and other suppliers, and with the Travel Trust Association to register your financial protection. If tickets are going to be late, we may give your address to the tour operator so that they can send tickets to you directly.

Some suppliers are outside the UK; where personal data is transferred internationally to deliver your booking, it is necessary for the performance of your contract.

5. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal and accounting requirements.

6. How we protect it

Your details are held securely. Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal information, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email enquiries@westgatetravel.co.uk or write to us at the address above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk (opens in new tab), 0303 123 1113.

8. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We keep their use to a minimum and are transparent about what we use:

  • Essential: we store your cookie choice (wt-cookie-consent) in your browser so we don’t ask again. This is strictly necessary and contains no personal information.
  • Google Tag Manager: our website loads Google Tag Manager (a Google service that manages the measurement code on our site). Google Tag Manager itself does not set cookies, but loading it means your browser connects to Google (for example, sharing your IP address and browser details).
  • Analytics (optional): we use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand in aggregate how visitors use the site. We use Google Consent Mode: analytics and advertising storage are set to “denied” by default, so no analytics cookies are set unless you click “Accept analytics”. If you accept, Google Analytics may set the cookies _ga and _ga_*, which last up to 2 years. If you do not accept, Google may still receive limited cookieless information (such as that a page was viewed) without identifying you through cookies. We do not use advertising or personalisation cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time via “Cookie settings”. Google’s own privacy information: How Google uses information from sites that use its services (opens in new tab).
  • Maps: the Google map on our contact page is only loaded if you click “Show map”. Google may then set its own cookies.

Our fonts and images are hosted on our own server. Apart from Google Tag Manager (above), browsing the site does not send your data to third parties. You can change your choice at any time: .
